My first PC and how it sparked my interest

A brief history

I started my journey of learning about computers and IT when I was three years old and I received my first computer. An NCR 486 running Windows 3.11 for Workgroups. Ever since, I have taken a lifelong interest in learning about computers and everything I could with regard to Information Technology. Since then, I have used, learned, and experimented with Windows Millennium Edition, Windows 2000 Pro, Windows XP Home, Windows Vista Ultimate, Windows 7 Ultimate, Windows 8.1 Home, Windows 10 Insider Builds, Windows 10 Home, Pro, Enterprise, and Enterprise LTSC, Windows NT 4.0 (VM), Windows 95 (VM), and Windows 3.1 (VM). In addition to this, I have also used and learned Ubuntu 9.10-14.04, Ubuntu 20.04, Pop! OS 19.10 and 20.04, Kali Linux 2021.1, Manjaro 20.1, Linux Mint (2015), Elementary OS (2017), Android x86, Zorin OS 15.3, and Ubuntu MATE 20.04. My most recent computer and daily driver is a custom gaming PC that I built from scratch with a Ryzen 5 2600 Six Core Twelve Thread CPU @ 3.40 GHz, 32 GB DDR4 2,666MHz RAM, NVIDIA GEForce GTX 1060 Dual 6GB GDDR5, a 600W PSU, 2TB m.2 PCI-E SSD, 1TB SATA SSD, 2TB 5400 RPM HDD, 4TB 5400 RPM HDD, triple monitor setup with VR, running a very complicated multi boot setup with Windows 10 Enterprise (as a daily),  another Windows 10 Enterprise (for virtualbox and experimentation projects), Ubuntu (with a Hackintosh VM), and a Kali Linux Hypervisor partition, all loaded on three separate hard drives, with a 4TB Shared Storage Drive.

Throughout my youth and into my adulthood, I have assisted multiple family members with their IT support and maintenance needs. This includes reinstalling operating systems, updating and troubleshooting drivers, changing and setting passwords, partitioning, installing custom Operating Systems, Dual and Multi-Boot setups, virus and malware removal, user account setup and control, internet connectivity troubleshooting, installing BIOS/UEFI updates, installing and configuring open source and closed source programs and suites, setting up VM, configuring Remote Access, configuring media cart setups with projectors and presentation computers, troubleshooting failed or failing monitors, replacing damaged PC components, replacing laptop RAM and HDD/SSD, updating and upgrading software.

Furthermore, I have developed programming skills in C# and Basic with my High-school Computer Sciences courses and by growing up with a Commodore 64C alongside my 486 PC. I have built several databases, games, school grading, and banking applications, among other things, in learning these languages.

When I left High School, I wasn't sure about my future career path, so I decided to start a career in the skilled trades to gain a great work ethic, build real world skills, and gain customer service experience in completing projects and assisting clients and customers. I have since found and decided to cultivate my passion for IT by pursuing it in my spare time in gaining certifications and learning about various parts of the industry and which skills I will need to develop in order to succeed in this industry and I look forward to starting a rewarding career in Information Technology.
